I am going to be buying a Samsung laptop soon and I was wondering how long it will last for. I am not going to drop it so don’t talk about that. Just tell me how long will it last for. I am currently in grade 10 and I need this laptop for like 7-10 years because i need it for Uni. later.

samsung laptop will last for 6 years 4 months 12 days 15 hours and 43 seconds from the time of purchase.
if you want to use it for 7 years, you’re screwed.
A laptop is typically outdated within a month or two of you purchasing it, there is always newer and better technology being invented everyday.
However, a computer will last as long as you want it to, just so long as you can take care of it.
Make sure that you protect it from physical damage, like don’t let it fall, keep the screen clean with a lint free micro fiber cloth.
You also want to keep the data safe, always use the latest antivirus software, otherwise you can get corrupted registries.
Keep your data defragmented and well organized.
Also make sure to clean the dust out of the computer after you’ve had it for a few months.
If you’re going to be using it for 7 years, I will tell you now that it will not be sufficient to meet your needs. The software and standards will be so radically different that you will need a new computer by University, even though your current one may still be functioning as if it were its first day of use.

Ok straight answer: Your laptop will last as long as you want BUT
-You will need a new one in 10 years trust me, even 7 is stretching it. Most application and cool stuff won’t work on your 7 year old computer, especially if it’s a laptop (hard to upgrade).
-You will have to take extra care in it, don’t drop it, clean it often, keep the windows installation disk close so you can re-install it when it gets slow.
-Don’t use it for more than 4 hours without closing it (hibernate or off, not sleep) or it will degrade faster. Chances are the casing will break before the actual CPU and disk drive. But the less you use it, the more chances are it will last long.
-Keep it dust free, it means don’t put it directly on your lap as most laptops have the input vent (sucking air) below thus sucking dust from your pants!
My opinion: I once thought I could keep my laptop forever since I didn’t needed it for anything fancy, my games were old and I didn’t care for anything else. 6 years later, my situation changed, I have money and a couple other computers as they are used for my work, I understand what you mean but understand that you will eventually want a new laptop trust me!
It will most likely be outdated long before it wears out or you break it. In 7 to 10 years it would be like using ( well an apple or commodore or win3.1). You are to young to even remember those. Trust me.
Two years from now when you are in college you will need a current state of the art computer.
So don` t worry about the brand just the features and the price. You WILL be replacing it in in 2-3 years.

Download the samsung laptop webcam driver & install it.
Now you can take pics with the built in cam in your notebook.
